Hi all, Chrome DevFest 2010 is now over, I had a great time and hope you enjoyed it as well.
Was nice to see some of you at the event and hanging around the cool GTUG lounge that Google has set up for us.

בחודש שעבר התקיים אירוע המפתחים השנתי Google I/O על אף ולמרות שהיו משתתפים רבים מרחבי העולם, לא כל המעוניינים יכולו להגיע לסן-פרנסיסקו. על מנת לעמוד בביקוש Google החליטה לקיים סידרה של אירועי מפתחים- DevFest ברחבי העולם ובשלב הראשון תקיים אירועים באוסטרליה, בפיליפינים, באינדונזיה בסינגפור וכן בישראל. לאחר מכן מתוכננים ארועים בספרד, ארגנטינה וצ'ילה.

האירוע הישראלי יתמקד בטכנולוגיות הקשורות ב- Google Chrome- בינהן HTML5, Chrome Extensions, Chrome Apps, Chrome Frame ו- Chrome Developers tools.

את האירוע יפתחו Brian Rakowski , מנהל המוצר הראשי של Google Chrome ופרופ' יוסי מטיאס,מנכ"ל מרכז המחקר והפיתוח בישראל וירצו בו מהנדסים ומנהלי מוצר של Google Chrome בינהם Ian Fette, Alex Russel, Pavel Feldman שהרצו גם בכנס ה I/O האחרון.

בסוף האירוע יתקיים Hackthon שיאפשר למשתתפים להתנסות בטכנולוגיות החדשות בהובלת Andrei Popescu מהנדס בכיר מצוות Chrome בלונדון .

מסלול מיוחד יוקדש למפתחי אתרים ויעמיק בסוגיות שקשורות לתאימות אתרים לדפדפנים, HTML5 ועוד. מסלול זה יהיה בראשות Jeremy Moskovich, מהנדס תוכנה בצוות Chrome ממרכז הפיתוח בישראל שלקח על עצמו את קידום נושא תאימות האתרים ברמה העולמית.

באירוע תהיה הזדמנות להיפגש עם עובדי Google ביניהם מהנדסים שעובדים על טכנולוגיות שונות.

האירוע אינו כרוך בתשלום אך מספר המקומות באירוע מוגבל וכדאי להירשם בהקדם

המקום מובטח ל30 הראשונים שיכתבו GTUG בשדה ה Referral

Google I/O is behind us, so what have we got?

- HTML5 has gained momentum
- VP8 is now open-source as part of a new “WebM” project.
- YouTube videos are being converted for the WebM Project.
- Chrome WebStore
- Google Wave is now open to anyone
- new version of GWT
- App Engine for Businesses, with SQL, SLA and dedicated support
- VMWare partners with Google with Springsource Roo on AppEngine
- Android 2.2 (Froyo) was shown, with loads of new features and enhancments
- GoogleTV was announched.

Other then that, GTUG TLV was shown on the global GTUG map, thanks Hezi for the picture!
